Position Summary:
We're seeking a detail-oriented OIX Administrator to provide essential back-office operational support to our Board of Directors and volunteer committees, while also driving revenue growth through sales of certifications and sponsorships. This part-time contract position combines administrative coordination with business development and community engagement responsibilities, playing a crucial part in advancing OIX's mission while driving organizational sustainability through consortium growth and member expansion.

You'll build valuable relationships with industry leaders across data centers, internet exchanges, and edge computing. Working directly with our Board and committees, you'll gain insider knowledge of technical standards development while developing a network of contacts that spans the global interconnection ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Operations-
● Manage day-to-day organizational operations and administrative functions
● Coordinate Board meetings, committee activities, and member communications
● Maintain organizational records, databases, and documentation systems
● Support certification processes and member onboarding activities
● Handle general correspondence and stakeholder communications
Business Development & Revenue Generation-
● Consortium Program Development: Lead outreach efforts to expand the OIX
Consortium Supporter program, targeting potential Premier Industry Leaders ($10,000),
Strategic Partners ($7,500), Core Contributors ($5,000), and Supporters ($2,500)
● Member Growth Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to grow general
membership base and increase certified entity participation
● Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with existing consortium
supporters while identifying and cultivating new prospects
● Revenue Pipeline: Create and manage a systematic approach to consortium sales,
including prospect tracking, follow-up processes, and renewal strategies
Marketing & Promotion-
● Support OIX brand visibility through various marketing channels and industry events
● Coordinate content creation for consortium supporter benefits (social media posts, press
releases, blog content)
● Assist in organizing virtual happy hours and networking events for consortium supporters
● Help develop marketing materials that showcase OIX value proposition to potential
members and supporters
Community Engagement-
● Foster relationships within the OIX community of members, certified entities, and
consortium supporters
● Support member engagement initiatives and volunteer coordination
● Assist with event planning and execution for both virtual and in-person activities
● Help maintain and grow the organization's network of industry stakeholders
Qualifications:
Required-
● Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
● Strong communication and relationship-building skills
● Sales experience or aptitude for business development
● Ability to effectively promote technical services to potential clients
● Proficiency with QuickBooks, Google Workspace, and content management systems
● Experience with communications management and social media platforms
● Ability to coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person events
● Self-motivated with ability to work independently while following direction
Preferred-
● Experience in non-profit administration or membership organizations
● Background in technology, telecommunications, or data center industries
● Sales or business development experience, particularly in B2B environments
● Understanding of consortium or membership models
● Experience with digital marketing and social media management
● Knowledge of Internet infrastructure, interconnection, or related technical fields
Compensation & Benefits:
Position Details-
● Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week (flexible arrangement)
● Compensation: $45,000 - $60,000 annually (1099 contractor basis)
● Time Off: Reasonable paid time off allowance
● Work Environment: Remote position with occasional travel for industry events
Note: This is a part-time contractor position (1099) without traditional employee benefits package.
