Vice Chairman of the Board Daniel Golding and Co-Founder and Treasurer Martin Hannigan to Moderate the Datacenter Track

CAMBRIDGE, MA, USA – May 29, 2014 The Open-IX Association (OIX), a neutral, non-profit industry association formed to promote better standards for data center interconnection and Internet exchanges, announces that Vice Chairman of the Board Daniel Golding and Co-Founder and Treasurer Martin Hannigan will moderate NANOG 61’s Datacenter Track, to be held Monday, June 2 from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM in the Grand Ballroom E-K

The Datacenter Track returns to the NANOG agenda, bringing more technical content, two data center-specific presentations, and a data center development update with new sites and availability. At the end of the track, Open-IX will provide a standards development update to the community.

In addition to serving as Vice Chairman of the Board of Open-IX, Daniel Golding is Vice President of Data Center Operations at Iron Mountain. He has over 20 years of experience in the Internet, datacenter, and critical facilitiesfields, ranging from financial and organizational to deeply technical. Mr. Golding has held executive positions at Raging Wire Data Centers, DH Capital, and Tier 1 Research. In addition, he has significant experience in onferenceadministration and management, including serving as the conference chairman for the Hosting TransformationSummit and the Global Peering Forum. Mr. Golding has also been a sponsor and host of NANOG.

As Co-Founder and Treasurer of Open-IX, Mr. Hannigan’s Internet industry experience spans 27 years and includes business, engineering and operations responsibilities for the world’s leading Internet companies including Bose, Level 3 Communications, VeriSign, Verne Global Iceland, and others. Currently, Martin leads the Network and Data Center Architecture group at Akamai Technologies, Inc., where his responsibilities include network and datacenter architecture and management. His Internet community activities include serving on the ICANN Address Supporting Organization Advisory Council, serving as an elected official of the ARIN Advisory Council, and an appointment by the ICANN GNSO to the ICANN Security, Stability and Resilience of the Domain Name System(DNS) Review Team 2.

Open-IX is a non-profit and neutral body of volunteers from the Internet community that aims to promote open, common and uniform standards for Internet connectivity, resiliency, interconnect, and security in order to reduce the complexity that restricts interconnection in fragmented markets.
